Job Description
Area Manager leading Air Methods’ Southern New Mexico air-medical base operations. Driving safety, staffing, financial performance, and readiness across multiple geographically dispersed bases.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of multiple Air Methods bases across Southern New Mexico
- Ensure all bases are in service, operate safely, and provide a positive customer experience
- Build an optimal and engaged local base culture aligned with company values and mission
- Communicate with base staff regarding efficient operations, responsibilities, and performance expectations
- Drive KPIs to maximize profit contribution
- Manage and control P&L, expenses, and payroll across assigned bases
- Schedule base staff to ensure 100% coverage, optimize in-service rates, and minimize overtime
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and Business Development to ensure policy and procedure compliance and customer satisfaction
- Recruit, manage performance, and develop teammates; handle employee relations issues, coaching, discipline, and termination
- Oversee supply chain and logistics, including non-aviation, maintenance, and clinical activities and expenses
- Coordinate maintenance planning and spare utilization to minimize base out-of-service events
- Support the Regional Director in delivering customer scorecards and executing action plans
- Maintain and monitor business, medical, and other required licenses and ensure discipline-specific compliance
- Coordinate base startups, moves, and closures with regional leadership
- Manage facility repairs, maintenance, and leases
- Directly supervise assigned area/region employees, including hiring, training, work assignment, performance appraisal, rewards, discipline, complaint handling, and problem resolution
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of related work experience in clinical, aviation, or maintenance with strong leadership background and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to be available 24/7 for operational requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% or more depending on business needs
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position

- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask efficiently, and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage revenue and budgets
- Ability to prepare written reports
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must comply with applicable DOT and Non-DOT random and reasonable suspicion requirements
- No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
