Job Description
Assistant Vice President leading Mashreq Global Services' global Kafka and real-time data platform administration. Driving governance, migrations, performance, security, and data-driven innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage global real-time in-platform administration, ensuring efficient and secure data management
- Oversee data migrations, governance, and performance optimization using big data platforms and cloud services
- Drive data-driven innovation by identifying and implementing technologies and strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on data-related projects and ensure successful delivery
- Mentor and guide data professionals, fostering continuous learning and improvement
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate advancements in big data and cloud technologies into strategies
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
- Develop stakeholder relationships and provide updates and insights on data management initiatives
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Requirements:
- Strong technical expertise in big data platforms such as Cloudera/Hadoop, Spark, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in data management tools and programming languages, including Python, SQL, Kafka, and Airflow
- Proven experience leading and managing data-related projects, with a track record of successful deliveries
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team of data professionals
- Deep understanding of data governance, data migrations, and performance optimization techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Analytical mindset focused on problem-solving and innovative thinking
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the data management or technology domain
- Experience in the financial services industry is an advantage
