Job Description
Associate Legal News Editor writing news articles for legal developments across the US. Joining LexisNexis Legal & Professional, crafting timely publications and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- monitor and identify important legal developments
- write news articles for daily news production
- set direction and provide tactical guidance
- continually improve publication content
- meet team performance goals
- gather news and relevant documents
- select which developments to report
- provide explanation on court opinions and litigation documents
- meet deadlines while producing publications
- review analytics of web-based content usage
Requirements:
- hard news reporting experience and excellent news judgment
- Bachelor's degree in journalism/communications (relevant experience considered without a degree)
- ability to multitask and reprioritize throughout the day
- ability to understand and explain complex legal topics
- skilled and speedy news writer
- ability to network with attorney sources
- excellent interviewing skills
- ability to work Eastern time zone hours
- ability to work independently
