Job Description
Associate Media Director supporting CBP’s Trusted Traveler Program marketing. Planning, buying, optimizing, and reporting paid media campaigns for domestic and international travelers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct audience, market, and media research to inform targeted domestic and international advertising strategies
- Support annual and campaign-level media planning across paid search, social, programmatic display and native, streaming audio and video, connected TV, out-of-home, and other approved channels
- Assist with evaluating media vendor proposals, negotiating placements and added value, and coordinating media buys
- Traffic, launch, pace, monitor, and optimize campaigns across demand-side platforms, native platforms, and direct vendor placements
- Monitor budgets, delivery, reach, frequency, engagement, conversion, acquisition, and cost-efficiency metrics
- Identify performance trends and optimization opportunities
- Pull, analyze, and synthesize media results for recurring reporting, after-campaign reporting, and client recommendations
- Cross-reference media invoices, placements, and delivery data to support reconciliation and timely payment
- Coordinate with creative, digital, analytics, and account teams to align audiences, messages, placements, tracking, and campaign objectives
- Present media recommendations and performance insights to clients
- Support ongoing optimization based on results, program priorities, and available enrollment capacity
- Work under the supervision of Senior Media Leads and collaborate with strategy, creative, analytics, and account teams
- Support U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Trusted Traveler Program Marketing Support Services under a newly awarded federal contract
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on media planning and buying experience in an advertising agency or internal marketing role across paid digital channels, including social, search, native, programmatic display, audio, and video
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with campaign trafficking, pacing, optimization, and budget monitoring across concurrent campaigns
- Demand-Side Platform buying experience, preferably Centro/Basis, and experience using paid social and search platforms
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Campaign Manager, and ad-serving platforms
- Proficient in Office 365, including Excel for data analysis and reporting/dashboard support
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with media vendors and reconciling invoices, placements, and delivery data
- Understanding of campaign tracking and attribution, including UTMs, pixels/tags where permitted, and conversion measurement
- Experience in a marketing or advertising agency or department
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Desired: Federal government marketing, advertising, or communications experience
- Desired: Existing DHS or CBP security clearance
- Desired: Experience supporting DHS, CBP, travel, aviation, or other programs serving domestic and international audiences
- Desired: Experience with international media planning or campaigns targeting multilingual or global audiences
- Desired: Familiarity with media performance dashboards, reporting tools, and campaign analytics
- Desired: Comfort working in a largely remote environment
