Job Description
Entry-level Technical Services Officer supporting UKTC’s passive fire protection testing and certification work. Assisting with classifications, technical reports, customer support, and laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in compiling classifications and extended field of application reports to appropriate standards for construction products
- Support customer/client relationships through product-range understanding, scope analysis, and test planning
- Provide basic technical assistance to customers/clients regarding testing and classification requirements, remotely or in person, under supervision
- Learn about construction products including doors, walls, floors, service installations, linear joint seals, fire-resistant glass and glazing systems, and smoke control dampers
- Assist with reviewing technical documentation for Technical Services and Fire Resistance
- Follow laboratory procedures in accordance with company internal requirements and health and safety standards
- Interact, coordinate, and communicate with all staff to support customer commitments
- Participate in team activities and contribute to innovative solutions
- Undertake other duties in line with the role as training progresses
Requirements:
- Degree/HNC level qualification in physics, engineering or another relevant scientific discipline, OR A-level/equivalent qualifications with demonstrable interest in technical/scientific fields
- Full driving licence would be useful due to the location of the site
- Interest in technical/scientific fields
- Ability to learn international test standards and regulations
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures and health and safety standards
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to interact, coordinate, and communicate with staff and customers
