Job Description

Associate Telecom consultant designing coordinated technology systems, drawings, and specifications for TEECOM’s engineering projects. Owning small projects and supporting larger deliveries through BIM coordination and client collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Own discipline-specific deliverables and coordinate with clients and design partners
  • Own and deliver small projects while supporting larger projects under senior engineer mentorship
  • Apply engineering judgment to resolve issues, validate assumptions, and make informed decisions
  • Design technology systems and prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, coordinated layouts, and technical inputs
  • Develop accurate, coordinated designs aligned with TEECOM standards and documentation practices
  • Participate in project meetings, programming sessions, coordination discussions, construction support, site walks, surveys, and inspections
  • Build client relationships through clear communication, reliable follow-through, and thoughtful coordination
  • Maintain alignment across disciplines and document decisions, impacts, and next steps
  • Support Project Leads and senior engineers with research, product evaluations, early design narratives, and coordinated documentation
  • Manage workload, prioritize tasks, communicate risks, and meet deadlines across multiple projects
  • Maintain project documentation in GitHub, Design Decision Logs, Asana, and Callback One
  • Complete accurate daily time and expense entries
  • Improve documentation, workflows, tools, standards, and shared practices
  • Contribute discipline inputs, assumptions, and coordination materials for pursuits and proposals
  • Provide production support during high-volume periods or complex project phases
  • Provide informal day-to-day support to Designers and early-career team members
  • Participate in structured training journeys, mentorship, and hands-on learning

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the United States; TEECOM is unable to sponsor visas
  • BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent technical or field experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the AEC industry
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, coordinated modeling, and construction documentation across multiple projects
  • Exposure to coordination processes or field-related activities
  • Experience leading BIM coordination efforts, including clash detection, model review, and cross-discipline resolution
  • Ability to maintain model health at a senior production level, including workset management, view template application, warning resolution, and model cleanup
  • Ability to manage and maintain coordinated models, produce accurate drawings with minimal oversight, and resolve production issues independently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage workloads across several projects, lead coordination efforts, and support engineers and project leads
  • Solid technical understanding of technology systems and engineering principles
  • Ability to perform calculations, conduct product research, and contribute to design development with limited guidance
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, and GitHub
  • Industry certifications are preferred but not required: EIT, CDT, RCDD (Telecom), PE
  • Prolonged desk work and regular reading, writing, and communication
  • Ability to travel occasionally to client sites for meetings, surveys, or inspections
  • Ability to navigate construction or utility areas, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and confined spaces
  • May occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
