Job Description
Remote associate attorney supporting Albertelli Law’s Illinois real estate and creditors’ rights practice. Managing legal matters, court appearances, and lender representation.
Responsibilities:
- Support the firm’s Illinois practice as an associate attorney
- Manage assigned matters using the firm’s case management and reporting software
- Apply civil procedure, motions practice, and loss mitigation knowledge
- Handle matters involving real estate, civil litigation, creditors’ rights, foreclosure, eviction, consumer protection, and related legal areas
- Make required court appearances and undertake attendant travel
- Provide superior client care and proactive communication
- Collaborate with and mentor team members
- Articulate complex legal concepts clearly
- Contribute to the representation of institutional and private lenders
Requirements:
- Must be a member and in good standing of the Illinois State Bar
- Active membership of the Illinois Bar is required
- 5+ years of experience in real estate, civil litigation, and/or creditors’ rights practice
- Willingness and ability to proactively use the firm’s case management and reporting software
- Strong foundation in civil procedure, motions practice, and loss mitigation
- Knowledge of Title & Lien Priority, Title Claim, Foreclosure, Eviction, TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and creditors’ rights practice
- Court appearances and attendant travel required
- Commitment to superior client care and proactive communication
- Self-starter able to work collaboratively
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership abilities and mentoring focus
- High analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound judgment in legal matters
