Job Description

Billing coordinator resolving patient eligibility, billing, and collections inquiries for LifeStance Health, a nationwide mental healthcare provider. Handling accounts, payments, insurance information, and revenue-cycle reporting remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve incoming Revenue Cycle Management and Patient Billing inquiries regarding patient eligibility, benefits, billing, and collections
  • Provide prompt, courteous service to patients, vendors, health plans, and clinic employees
  • Handle Revenue Cycle interactions by inbound and outbound phone, email, voicemail, faxes, and patient portal
  • Communicate with offices and patients to ensure current information
  • Process payment requests from patients
  • Update insurance plan and other portal information accurately
  • Support leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
  • Answer patient questions and concerns regarding accounts and centers
  • Work with patients and providers to resolve account challenges and communicate troubleshooting next steps
  • Identify potential revenue cycle challenges and escalate them for departmental or leadership review
  • Review billing transactions for accuracy and help resolve payment-posting challenges

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a call center environment
  • Healthcare revenue cycle experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working with Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs), call center and phone systems
  • Strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email
  • Strong understanding of major health insurance carriers (in and out-of-network)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive patient information
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to type fluently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner, specifically exhibiting empathy and compassion when interacting with patients
  • Legally authorized to be employed in the United States
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, hear, and frequently walk
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus
