Job Description
Business Development Director driving CRO sales and strategic accounts for Ergomed, a clinical research and pharmaceutical services group. Developing partnerships across the UK and Nordic markets.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate, coordinate and develop strategic plans and sales strategies within a specified territory or accounts
- Develop account strategies and implementation plans and expand through accounts
- Identify new markets and research new business opportunities
- Identify likely sales points within a specified territory or accounts
- Collect critical information for proposal preparation
- Provide detailed input and leadership of the proposal process for each opportunity initiated
- Prepare and organize sponsor presentations
- Facilitate team preparedness for client meetings, including Capabilities meetings and Bid Defence Meetings
- Coordinate and monitor budget or contract negotiations after work is awarded
- Interact with operations and track study status for projects with sponsors
- Help coordinate change orders when notified of changes in scope
- Establish and maintain regular contact and rapport with future and current clients
- Monitor and track competitor CRO activities
- Plan and attend major industry events and tradeshows
Requirements:
- Considerable CRO sales experience
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Preferable experience in UK and Nordic countries
- Established network of decision makers within Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies
- Proven track record of identifying and securing profitable service contracts
- Awareness of trends and government policies and regulations in the clinical trials area of Ergomed Group countries
- Excellent communication skills and team leadership capabilities
- Strong and effective presentation skills
- Ability to convincingly present features and benefits of services to clients
- Excellent organisational, planning and multitasking skills
- Predisposition to entrepreneurship, results and customer focus
- Ability to travel according to the needs of the business development strategy
