Job Description
Business relationship manager improving Talcott’s retail annuity distribution operations. Resolving IMO partner issues and streamlining workflows across internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison for escalated operational concerns from IMO back offices
- Coordinate resolution of high-impact issues related to processing, compensation, and contracting
- Build and maintain operational relationships with IMO partners
- Coordinate between external partners and internal teams
- Collaborate with Sales, New Business, Licensing & Appointments, Commissions, and Technology to drive operational efficiency
- Educate IMO partners on Talcott’s service model, operational procedures, turnaround times, and digital tools
- Identify patterns in service issues and recommend process improvements
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Sales Leadership to align operational strategy with account management goals
- Support onboarding and training of new distribution partners, including systems access, workflow orientation, and operational enablement
- Participate in business process improvement initiatives and cross-functional working groups as a distribution operations subject matter expert
- Travel occasionally to IMO site visits or industry conferences
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the insurance or financial services industry, preferably in annuity operations, case management, or relationship management
- Strong knowledge of independent distribution, IMO models, and annuity business processing
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex service issues across organizational boundaries
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with CRM systems and workflow management tools is preferred
- Ability to travel 25% within the U.S.
