Job Description
C++ Engineer developing AI-powered photo editing software at Skylum, a Ukrainian photo-editing company. Optimizing CPU performance and building cross-platform imaging solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop C++ software for Skylum's award-winning photo editing tools
- Apply modern C++ practices, scalable software design, and code-quality principles
- Implement multithreaded and performance-optimized solutions
- Decompose technical tasks and estimate implementation effort
- Optimize CPU performance
- Collaborate with the engineering team
- Contribute to technical sales and commercial exploration of new projects or products, where applicable
- Participate in the interview process: Talent Acquisition Manager interview, professional interview, and management interview
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional C++ development experience
- Good knowledge of modern C++ (C++17/C++20)
- Understanding of RAII, move semantics, STL, and basic template programming
- Experience with multithreading and performance optimization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to decompose technical tasks and estimate implementation effort
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Understanding of scalable and maintainable software design principles
- Responsible approach to product and code quality
- CPU optimization skills
- English at B2 level (C1 is preferred)
- Experience with graphics APIs (Vulkan, Metal)
- Basic understanding of GPU acceleration / compute shaders
- Familiarity with ML inference frameworks (ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO, CoreML, DirectML)
- Experience of low-level CPU optimization techniques - SSE/AVX/NEON intrinsics or Assembly language
- Background in computer vision, image, or video processing
- Experience with CMake
- Experience developing cross-platform solutions
- Experience optimizing applications for resource-constrained environments
- Experience taking part in technical sales and commercial exploration of new projects or products or experience working in early-stage startups
