Job Description

Civil litigation defense attorney managing complex cases for a premier Southwest law firm. Handling depositions, dispositive motions, trials, arbitrations, and institutional client strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a robust caseload from intake through trial or resolution
  • Conduct and defend depositions of experts, key witnesses, corporate representatives, and plaintiffs
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions, including MSJs and demurrers, and substantive pre-trial motions
  • Serve as first- or second-chair in trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings
  • Direct client management, including risk evaluation and strategy development with institutional clients and insurers
  • Manage complex litigation across public entity and municipal defense, employment litigation, general and professional liability, medical malpractice and elder care, and/or appellate and business litigation
  • Take ownership of complex files and step directly into trial responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • 4–10 years of substantive civil litigation experience; defense background preferred
  • Active license in good standing with the Nevada State Bar
  • Proven track record taking and defending expert depositions and handling court appearances independently
  • Strong legal analysis, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Demonstrated interest or background in civil litigation, insurance defense, or public entity work
  • Self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, trial-focused environment
