Job Description

Cloud Infrastructure Architect modernizing Azure platforms for Preferred Mutual Insurance. Leading cloud migration, infrastructure automation, DevSecOps, security, and AI-driven operational transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and help manage the organization’s foundational technology layers
  • Create secure, scalable systems supporting servers, networks, cloud platforms, and storage
  • Identify emerging technologies and automation opportunities to optimize the P&C insurance value chain
  • Create strategic blueprints for enterprise hardware, software, and network interactions
  • Plan and execute migration from localized data centers to Microsoft Azure
  • Assess existing systems and codebases, identify constraints and errors, and plan architectural upgrades
  • Standardize and provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and code-driven deployments
  • Author code and standardized infrastructure blueprints for automated environment provisioning
  • Help design automated build and release pipelines supporting CI/CD and DevSecOps
  • Expand JSM automation into a self-service catalog
  • Build security mechanisms into foundational architecture layers
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to automate controls and workflows
  • Coordinate with corporate security engineers to meet compliance regulations and insurance standards
  • Serve as principal technical lead for large foundational infrastructure initiatives
  • Mentor, teach, and develop technical skills among IT teams and engineering peers
  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation tools
  • Lead proofs of concept and share effectiveness results with leadership and technical teams
  • Assess AI integration into automation workflows against measurable outcomes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related technical discipline, required
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification required
  • Azure Administrator Associate credential preferred
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible technical experience in a senior infrastructure role
  • Strong background scoping, architecting, and deploying enterprise-scale platforms
  • Proven track record leading cloud migrations and managing production workloads in Microsoft Azure
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code toolsets such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates
  • Experience managing CI/CD automation pipelines
  • Relevant background in highly regulated industry frameworks
  • Property and Casualty insurance sector experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze P&C insurance business objectives and map them to technology solutions
  • Ability to work independently or direct technical teams with limited oversight
  • Advanced analytical and architectural thinking skills
