Job Description
Coder providing outpatient coding assignment at Children’s, one of the nation’s leading children’s hospitals. Responsible for coding medical records, reviewing documentation, and ensuring data quality.
Responsibilities:
- Provides accurate and timely assignment of appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes on medical records
- Reviews the medical record and charges to identify diagnoses and procedures
- Assigns ICD-10-CM codes and CPT-4 codes to outpatient types
- Abstracts diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system
- Monitors assigned work queues and physician notes
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in hospital and/or physician practice outpatient coding
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent certification
