Job Description
Controller/CFO overseeing accounting, reporting, controls, and financial strategy for a full-service marketing solutions company. Advising leadership and presenting forecasts to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting and financial operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and the accounting team
- Serve as a key financial advisor to company leadership
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
- Present financial results, forecasts, budgets, and other financial information to the Board of Directors
- Develop and monitor internal controls, systems, and procedures for finance and accounting
- Review and audit the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and government regulations
- Supervise timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Coordinate audits and required tax reporting with the accounting team and an independent firm
- Develop goals and metrics measuring business value drivers and finance objectives
- Analyze financial results and departmental budget variances
- Recommend operational and capital structure changes to achieve financial goals
- Coordinate organization- and department-level budgets
- Work with operations to ensure accurate costs inform product and service pricing
- Prepare cash flow and financial position forecasts under multiple scenarios
- Maximize financial resource productivity while maintaining adequate liquidity
- Lead invoicing, purchasing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions to maximize cash flow
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial management required
- Proven experience leading finance and accounting in a comparable organization
- Leadership in the marketing industry preferred
- Strong cultural fit with the organization's core values
- Proven accounting and financial reporting skills
- Proven ability to manage financial strategy for the organization
- Proven experience managing internal controls, compliance and finance procedures
- Proven track record with cash management and coordinating banking relationships
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
