Job Description
Critical Power Technician maintaining critical power systems in Nashville, TN. Role involves technical support, customer service, and mentoring crew members in UPS systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
- Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment.
- Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.
- Customer relationship building – Provide excellent customer service and upsell products.
- Field troubleshooting calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution.
- Quickly respond to critical situations.
- Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data.
- Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products and technologies.
- Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with a demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability -OR-
- Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space
- Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred
- Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
- Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters, and battery test equipment
- Read and interpret electronics schematics with the ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level.
- Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
- Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – you will set the pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast-paced changing priorities.
