Job Description

Data Protection Manager assuring compliant data processing for Atos’s financial-services outsourcing operations. Advising teams and clients on GDPR, breaches, controls, and privacy governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with operational teams
  • Provide trusted technical/SME advice and guidance to operational and change teams
  • Assess data protection breaches, assist with remedial actions, and track remediation
  • Produce and maintain data protection policies and procedures for Atos BTS
  • Promote and enhance the data protection governance culture within BTS
  • Perform assurance assessments and gap analyses against data protection regulatory requirements
  • Monitor compliance with data protection and privacy legislation while handling significant amounts of personal data
  • Apply DPA and FOIA rules, principle-based regulation, and risk-based techniques to assess compliance, mitigations, and weaknesses
  • Support first-line operational staff and management in assessing data protection regulatory risks and controls, including DSAR and FOIA requests
  • Deliver data protection and regulatory risk education through stakeholder-specific training development and review
  • Liaise continuously with client data protection representatives and hold regular joint governance meetings
  • Support Aegon and Royal London account mandates
  • Report to the Head of Data Protection, Atos BTS (Conduct and Compliance)

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Data Protection regulatory risk environment and operation of regulatory bodies
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience interpreting data protection regulatory requirements within the financial services industry
  • Experience building key relationships and influencing/challenging stakeholders
  • DP Practitioner Certificate, ISEB or equivalent Data Protection qualification
  • Expert knowledge of national and European data protection laws and practices
  • In-depth understanding of GDPR
  • Knowledge of the UK Data Protection and Digital Information Bill
  • Experience conducting data privacy compliance assurance reviews
  • Experience managing information and data security activities in a business environment
  • Demonstrable experience developing and managing information and data security assurance programs, including third parties
  • Ability to act as a leading authority to all Atos business units
  • Ability to provide clear advice and direction amid ambiguity, competing demands, and short deadlines
  • Eligibility for BPSS security clearance
