Job Description

Database Administrator III maintaining and tuning Oracle databases for ONEOK, a leading midstream energy infrastructure company. Designing schemas, troubleshooting SQL issues, and producing operational reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced database services, including database design, creation, and maintenance
  • Monitor and maintain database performance, integrity, reliability, security, disk space, and capacity
  • Troubleshoot SQL performance issues
  • Ensure databases are properly backed up
  • Design complex database schemas and table structures for new development
  • Install and configure database packages
  • Coordinate with development personnel and end users to resolve data conflicts and complex performance problems
  • Identify requirements for new database designs with technical and development personnel
  • Compile, calculate, analyze, and prepare database-related information and reports
  • Prepare system security and event log reports, performance monitoring reports, disk utilization reports, backup/recovery logs, and database dump scripts
  • Travel in and around office facilities system wide

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or another related field, with previous experience or equivalent formal education
  • Coursework or equivalent formal education covering programming languages, computers and society, computer organization, data structures and algorithm analysis, numerical analysis, file processing, database processing, and operating systems
  • Experience with all areas of administration of applicable database systems
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases in a corporate environment
  • Experience and/or training designing and working with multiple Oracle RDBMS instances
  • Experience and/or training utilizing Enterprise Manager and other management tools to maintain and tune Oracle databases
  • Experience and/or training modifying stored procedures in a database server environment
  • Experience utilizing SQL
  • Linux administrative skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, cost analyses, contracts, manuals, computer printouts, and legal documents
  • Experience researching, composing, and preparing reports, studies, recommendations, and correspondence applicable to the position
  • Experience interacting and communicating effectively
  • Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups
  • Knowledge of relational database design, including table structures, indexes, and primary/foreign key fields
  • Problem resolution and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to apply math, algebra, statistical, and volumetric methods
  • Ability to lead, train, coach, delegate, and review work activities
  • Ability to communicate and exchange written and verbal information and instructions
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • Must be eligible for remote work in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, or Wyoming
  • May be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver's license
