Job Description

Ryder Director leading dedicated transportation sales, solution selling, and contract pursuits. Building pipelines, closing deals, and expanding customer accounts across U.S. locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead pursuits of new business and expansion/renewal business
  • Coordinate the complete sales cycle, including lead generation and prospect qualification
  • Lead cross-functional pursuit teams and direct deal strategy, pricing, service, value proposition, and presentations
  • Create deal and pricing strategies and proposal plans
  • Prospect new brands and develop an industry network to build pipeline
  • Explore cross-sell opportunities and negotiate contracts to close deals
  • Provide continued commercial support on closed accounts
  • Focus on one vertical/business unit and customize Ryder solutions to customer needs
  • Transition new accounts and business to account leadership after 24 months unless otherwise directed
  • Propose $100 million over a five-year period
  • Sign one SCS/DTS cross-sell opportunity
  • Adhere to Ryder policies and procedures, including the Travel and Expense Policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business administration, finance, or related field
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) preferred
  • Five (5) years or more sales experience, including 3 years at quota and 2 years at 75% of quota
  • Five (5) years or more selling supply chain solutions and/or quota attainment more than 3 times within a 60-month period
  • Understanding of services, costs, pricing and value expert required
  • Noncommercial Driver License CLASS E
  • Travel - 40-50%
  • Ability to listen, write, and speak effectively; inform, explain, and give instructions
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, customer service, problem solving, time management, and priority-setting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, adapt to changing conditions, meet strict deadlines, work independently and in a team, and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships and influence internal and/or external constituents
