Job Description

Commercial FP&A Director partnering with European markets at argenx, an immunology biotech developing autoimmune medicines. Leading forecasting, business cases, resource allocation and regional finance processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key Finance partner to the Business in 1–2 large European markets
  • Coordinate regional FP&A activities, including planning and pipeline activities
  • Participate in country leadership teams and provide strategic and financial leadership
  • Lead planning, forecasting, performance management and reporting for assigned markets
  • Partner with local stakeholders to provide insights, constructive challenge and fact-based proposals
  • Develop business cases and complex analyses to support decision-making, strategic initiatives and resource allocation
  • Model access strategy, pricing scenarios and reimbursement schemes
  • Support new-launch preparation, resourcing, patient forecasting and revenue forecasting
  • Evaluate investment and resource requirements, commercial analytics, salesforce effectiveness and incentives
  • Manage local go-to-market models and headcount
  • Lead quarterly P&L forecasting and long-range planning
  • Deliver monthly management P&L reporting and monitor performance against forecast
  • Drive cost management, resource allocation and value creation
  • Work with Distribution and support the S&OP process to manage inventory
  • Lead regional FP&A processes and act as regional referent for pipeline assets or indications
  • Improve finance processes and tools, including use of AI
  • Lead or support strategic finance projects
  • Partner with Accounting, Tax and Treasury to maintain accounting integrity, compliance and controls
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Support corporate reporting, tax, statutory, audit and other financial requirements

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Finance, with relevant experience in FP&A
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and as a strategic finance partner to senior stakeholders
  • Strong finance expertise with advanced analytical and modelling skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
  • Leadership and trusted business partner capabilities; ability to lead through influence
  • High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Concise communication
  • Strong commercial mindset and understanding of business drivers
  • Strong learning agility in fast-paced, results-driven environments
  • Pragmatic and hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of relevant systems, technology, financial reporting requirements and controls
