Job Description
EU News Reporter for Bitcoin Magazine delivering timely news updates across social platforms. Monitoring market developments and creating optimized content for Bitcoin-centric audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Publish breaking news updates across Bitcoin Magazine’s social channels, including X, Facebook, Threads, Instagram, and others.
- Monitor news during assigned hours and identify stories relevant to our audience, prioritizing accuracy and speed.
- Format and optimize posts for each platform to maximize reach, engagement, and clarity.
- Cover EU and early U.S. market hours: 3:00 AM – 9:00 AM CT / 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM GMT, Monday through Friday.
- Support weekend and holiday coverage by posting 1–2 updates per day as needed, and be prepared to go “all in” during major breaking news.
- Hit a consistent publishing cadence of roughly 4–10 posts per weekday during your shift, adjusting up or down based on the news cycle.
- Maintain Bitcoin Magazine’s voice and credibility by following editorial standards and avoiding speculation or misrepresentation.
- Coordinate with the news team on major or developing stories, and communicate handoffs clearly when your shift ends.
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of professional social media experience, ideally for news, media, or fast-paced consumer brands.
- Ability to quickly identify what is newsworthy in Bitcoin, crypto, macro, and regulatory coverage, and communicate it clearly.
- Comfort writing and publishing across X, Facebook, Threads, and Instagram, including adapting tone and formatting for each platform.
- Strong instincts for verification, sourcing, and avoiding errors under time pressure.
- Crisp, concise copywriting with strong attention to grammar, clarity, and voice consistency.
- Ability to consistently work 3:00 AM – 9:00 AM CT / 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM GMT, Monday–Friday (and support weekends/holidays as needed).
- Clear communicator who can coordinate with editors and reporters, especially during developing stories and shift handoffs.
- A Bitcoiner who follows the space closely and understands the culture, key narratives, and why credibility matters.
