Job Description
Field Auto Appraiser assessing vehicle damage and writing collision estimates for Allstate. Meeting customers, negotiating settlements, and guiding auto claims through repair or total loss.
Responsibilities:
- Meet customers at their homes, repair shops, or tow yards
- Write estimates and guide customers through the repair or total loss process
- Conduct in-person visits, virtual inspections, and written communication
- Evaluate vehicle damage and collaborate with body shops and service providers
- Investigate claims through detailed damage reviews and policy interpretation to determine coverage
- Communicate with customers by phone, email, and video chat, providing updates on claim progress
- Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
- Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms to resolve claims
- Accurately document claims and maintain timely records in the claims system
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience in auto collision estimating using CCC or Mitchell
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write precise and comprehensive estimates
- Comfortable utilizing technology and various platforms for claims processing
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
- Must be located in Queens, NY
- Required adjusters' and/or appraisers' licenses must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Must maintain all licensing required for the role, including continuing education and other state-affiliated renewal requirements
- Must pass a background investigation
- Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
- When working from home, must have a dedicated, private workspace, appropriate desk and seating, and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
