Job Description
FP&A Director leading reporting, forecasting, operational analysis, and AI transformation at Flagstone Foods, a North American snack-nut, trail-mix, and dried-fruit manufacturer. Reporting to the CFO and supporting executive decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly business results reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and operational KPI results
- Provide commentary on variances to budget, forecast, and prior year
- Facilitate weekly and monthly business performance review meetings with functional leaders
- Explain financial and operational drivers, align corrective actions, and follow up on accountability and results
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes using driver-based models
- Prepare reporting and presentation materials for the CFO, executive leadership, board, and private equity sponsors
- Build and evaluate business cases for capital investments, cost-saving initiatives, and new products
- Track realized results against plan
- Enhance SKU profitability reporting and provide bid-versus-actual insights
- Develop a sourcing-based commodity position management framework
- Apply predictive and optimization models to recommend product and channel mix for margin maximization
- Evaluate and establish best-in-class organizational KPIs
- Lead identification, prioritization, and deployment of AI and advanced analytics use cases
- Partner with IT and data owners to establish data quality, governance, and SAP integration foundations
- Lead finance transformation initiatives, including impact analysis, business readiness assessments, and management of project risks, timelines, and deliverables
- Report to the Chief Financial Officer
- Supervise employees
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or CMA designation, or equivalent experience
- CPA or MBA a plus
- 7–10 years of progressive finance experience in a similar role, including FP&A and operational or plant finance
- Experience in middle-market, private equity-backed manufacturing or industrial companies preferred
- Food or consumer packaged goods experience a plus
- Strong command of manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, SKU and customer profitability analysis
- Demonstrated experience applying AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics to finance or operational problems
- Practical understanding of moving AI or analytics from pilot to everyday adoption
- Ability to drive transformation, improve processes, mentor teams, and upgrade talent as needed
- Strong leadership, collaboration, influencing, and team leadership experience
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with BI and planning tools such as Power BI and Tableau expected
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or AI-enabled finance platforms a plus
- Ability to develop business-driven financial analysis and recommendations and communicate them clearly to non-finance audiences
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced setting
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a collaborative approach
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, work independently, use a computer and keyboard, and be independently mobile
