Job Description
GCM Relationship Manager II managing Global Capital Markets accounts for M&T Bank. Overseeing client service, transactions, compliance, risk, and fee administration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage client relationships and daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets accounts
- Monitor administrative and operational systems, databases, and account activity
- Review, analyze, and comment on operative documents and agreements
- Coordinate risk monitoring and regulatory compliance with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit
- Research and resolve control and client service issues
- Work with external parties to structure and close GCM transactions
- Execute cash flows, fee billing, reporting, and tickler processing
- Participate in sales calls and prepare fee proposals for new business
- Cultivate current and prospective clients and referral sources
- Represent GCM at transaction closings and lead client meetings and presentations
- Identify and implement approved fee increases, discounts, and waivers
- Provide coverage for other Relationship Managers
- Represent GCM and lead departmental or corporate projects
- Assist with development and operation of business products and processes
- May supervise and/or mentor less experienced associates
- Adhere to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards
- Promote an environment supporting belonging and the M&T Bank brand
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets
- High level of proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software
- Prior experience reading, analyzing and interpreting legal documents
- Prior experience calculating amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages
- Familiarity with corporate structures, relevant laws and regulations
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
