Job Description

General Ledger Manager at Milliman overseeing GL team management and financial reporting responsibilities. Collaborating with finance teams for journal entry preparation and process enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage GL team (US and India).
  • Manage GL processes.
  • Prepare Journal Entries in multiple ledgers and review Journal Entries prepared by the GL team.
  • Prepare consolidation and balance sheet reports.
  • Reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Update accounting codes in Oracle GL and online Accounting Manual.
  • Answer questions about the General Ledger and Journal Entries.
  • Assist in various ad-hoc processes (e.g. Audits).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills, with the ability to leverage Microsoft Copilot.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong client service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement with a proactive approach.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) tools or applications in finance preferred.
