Job Description

Head of Finance overseeing financial strategy, compliance, and operations in Colombia and Puerto Rico. Leading financial planning, audits, and systems modernization.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with tax, financial, and labor laws in Puerto Rico and Colombia.
  • Oversee local tax filings, including sales/use taxes, withholdings, contributions, regulatory submissions, and informatives.
  • Maintain updated financial policies aligned with jurisdictional requirements and global best practices.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring complete documentation, transparency, and readiness.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance risk matrix and mitigation protocols.
  • Supervise federal and state reporting related to withholdings, dividends, and informatives.
  • Coordinate U.S. tax-related matters with external specialists.
  • Ensure compliance for cross-border financial activity involving U.S. entities.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting cycles.
  • Oversee monthly close, financial statements, and variance analysis.
  • Implement and monitor strong internal controls across all financial processes.
  • Oversee multi-entity structures, consolidations, intercompany allocations, and cross-border financial flows.
  • Drive automation of financial processes, improving speed, accuracy, and traceability.
  • Lead the modernization of the finance function through advanced tools, workflows, and automation.
  • Manage and optimize financial platforms such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, banking portals, dashboards, and internal systems.
  • Implement integrations between financial tools and operational systems (e.g., procurement, HRIS, media investment tools).
  • Identify opportunities for “speed-forward” automation to reduce manual steps and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Lead liquidity strategy, cash flow planning, and fund allocation.
  • Oversee treasury operations, reconciliations, and payment execution.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with banks across Puerto Rico and Colombia.
  • Implement controls to prevent duplicate payments, fraud, or operational discrepancies.
  • Lead supplier management strategy, including vetting, negotiations, contracts, and renewal cycles.
  • Oversee the Procure-to-Pay workflow: onboarding, PO verification, terms validation, approvals, and payments.
  • Ensure compliance and proper documentation for local and international suppliers.
  • Identify cost-optimization opportunities and strengthen supplier performance.
  • Oversee payroll operations in Puerto Rico and Colombia, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution.
  • Validate compensation structures, bonuses, provisions, and termination processes.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation by employee according to organizational structure.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level insights.
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and financial scenarios for strategic planning.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-financial teams.
  • Maintain historical financial records and audit-ready data trails.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years in senior finance, accounting, tax, or treasury roles.
  • Experience managing financial operations across multiple countries.
  • Experience with supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Strong background in tax compliance, financial policies, and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity structures, cost allocation models, and cross-border financial coordination.
  • Proven experience with QuickBooks, Bill.com, and financial automation tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • Bilingual English–Spanish (mandatory).
