Job Description
Infrastructure Engineer managing complex high-availability systems for a large esports community. Responsible for DevOps culture, automations, and system security in a remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for robust infrastructure supporting the entire esports community
- Management of Linux servers using extensive scripting and automation
- Management of Docker clusters (Kubernetes and Swarm) and CS2 game servers
- Enable developers to be more productive in development (DevOps)
- Build deployments following software development best practices focused on maintainability, scalability, and performance
- Identify application bottlenecks to solve complex challenges
- Work in pairs and perform code reviews to improve system quality
- Have the autonomy to make high-quality architectural and structural decisions
- Help build highly scalable, highly available production software
- Implement security layers
- Enjoy tackling complex problems.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience with Unix environments, scripting languages, networking, and DNS
- Minimum 8 years of experience with observability and application monitoring
- Minimum 8 years of solid experience with deployment workflows, CI/CD, and code promotion between development and production environments
- Strong experience with automation and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Strong experience with Docker (containers, clusters, orchestrators)
- Solid experience with CDN and WAF
- Solid experience managing environments for web applications
- Experience with systems that require high availability and high scalability in production
- Familiarity with queue architectures and asynchronous programming
- Preference for a DevOps culture over centralized access control
- Enjoy tackling interesting technical challenges with high-quality solutions and a sense of urgency for prioritizing issues
- Enjoy working in a team, learning and teaching, comfortable providing technical support, and communicating and aligning well with the team
- Availability to participate in a paid on-call rotation (also called on-call): weekdays 19:00–00:00 and weekends/holidays 15:00–00:00 — rotating with other engineers and responding only when alerted.
