Job Description
Data warehouse architect designing data models, ETL specifications, and analytics architectures for CareOregon’s health insurance operations. Analyzing data sources and coordinating vendors from home in Oregon.
Responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate-level data warehouse architecture
- Create data models for moderate to advanced subjects
- Create ETL specifications to meet business data needs
- Develop and maintain design and operation documentation
- Analyze data sources and recommend solutions, including risks and mitigation
- Participate in long-term data warehouse and dashboard architecture planning
- Create and manage data warehouse and analytics architectures for solution development
- Propose requirements, standards, and best practices for data modeling, ETL specifications, and data warehouse development
- Review existing systems for compliance with established standards and to empower business operations
- Conduct product and vendor research and present recommendations to database developers and/or management
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of data design/data architecture experience and/or minimum 2 years of data warehouse architecture experience
- Dimensional modeling experience
- Data quality assessment
- Proficiency with SQL
- Agile/Scrum methodology
- Source-target mapping
- Data analysis
- Working knowledge/skills of Microsoft SQL Server
- Working knowledge of cloud data warehousing tools such as Snowflake or Redshift
- Working knowledge/skills of ETL tools such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory
- Advanced troubleshooting of system performance issues and root cause
- Working knowledge/skills of unit and integration testing
- Effective communication, listening, verbal, written, and customer service skills
- Ability to articulate policies and instructions clearly
- Ability to communicate appropriate detail to technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to recommend policies, document risks, and propose solutions to IT management and senior leadership
- Ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to learn, evaluate information, and determine appropriate actions
- Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movement for at least 6 hours/day
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3–6 hours/day
