Job Description
Junior Legal Engineer supporting AI-enabled legal technology, workflow automation and eDiscovery projects. Helping Dentons, a global law firm, deliver practical solutions across Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, creation, deployment and implementation of internal and client-facing legal technology solutions, particularly AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, matter management tools and document automation
- Assist with configuring, testing, improving and operating legal workflows, AI-enabled solutions, online questionnaires, automated templates and data extraction processes
- Manage tool instances, including user access, permissions, operational coordination and communication with technology vendors
- Help legal teams adopt technology and AI solutions in a practical, responsible and user-friendly way
- Support eDiscovery, litigation support and technology-assisted review projects, including setup, coordination, tracking and operational delivery
- Support legal engineering projects across Europe involving AI-enabled solutions, workflow automation, transaction management, litigation case management, compliance matters and document automation
- Assist with requirements gathering, process mapping and legal workflow documentation
- Create and maintain automated templates, online questionnaires, simple workflow configurations and AI-supported use cases
- Test automated documents, workflows, AI-enabled tools and technology-enabled processes; record issues and support troubleshooting and fixes
- Support eDiscovery projects through matter intake, scoping, planning, tracking, status reporting and coordination with legal teams, clients, vendors and internal technology teams
- Coordinate eDiscovery activity, track deadlines, monitor review progress, escalate risks and maintain project documentation
- Provide operational support for technology-assisted review, AI-supported data extraction, litigation support and efficiency projects
- Prepare user guides, training materials, project notes and other documentation
- Help run user testing, gather feedback and support continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Suitable for a junior lawyer, paralegal, legal operations professional, legal technologist, litigation support analyst or recent graduate
- Degree or qualification in law, technology, engineering, information management, legal operations or a related discipline would be beneficial
- Some experience in a law firm, legal department, professional services, litigation support, eDiscovery or legal operations would be helpful
- Interest in legal AI, document automation, workflow automation, eDiscovery platforms, technology-assisted review, data extraction or matter management solutions
- Ability to understand legal processes, follow structured workflows and translate user needs into clear requirements or project tasks
- Strong attention to detail, organization and follow-through
- Good communication skills, including explaining issues clearly, asking thoughtful questions and keeping stakeholders informed
- Proactive, collaborative and comfortable learning new tools, working with data and supporting responsible technology-enabled solutions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with supervision, and prioritize tasks under pressure
