Job Description
California labor and employment attorney supporting litigation, administrative matters, and employment-document drafting. Collaborating with senior attorneys and clients at an established California law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and trial preparation materials
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on a variety of labor and employment law issues
- Support senior attorneys in fact investigations, witness interviews, and development of case strategy
- Prepare responses to administrative charges and complaints before agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and DLSE
- Draft and review employment-related documents, including workplace policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements
- Participate in client meetings and calls, providing updates and supporting ongoing client communications
- Monitor changes in labor and employment laws and draft client alerts or updates under supervision
- Collaborate closely with partners and associates in a team-oriented environment, with opportunities for training and mentorship
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing with the California Bar
- 2–4 years of attorney experience in CA Labor & Employment Law
- Strong preference for Wage and Hour and FEHA, but open to all Employment Law Experience
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- 1900 billable hours
- Must reside and be admitted to practice in California
