Job Description
Lead Database Reliability Engineer ensuring database reliability and performance for wellness businesses. Collaborating with product and engineering teams on innovative data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Drive data strategy and practices for databases
- Capacity planning and performance tuning
- Database related project work (e.g. writing migration scripts, procs, DDL)
- Manage high risk data deployments
- Assist development teams in a consultancy role
- Constantly improve data operational engineering practices
- Maintain awareness of trends and propose to Wellness Solutions
- Advocate for and apply DevOps and SRE principles
- Grow and mentor other Data professionals.
Requirements:
- Strong ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and make sound technical decisions
- Deep expertise in database reliability, performance, and management
- Strong experience with relational databases, ideally SQL Server and Azure SQL
- Advanced T-SQL skills
- Experience with scripting, object-oriented programming, and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Python, PowerShell, and Terraform
- Experience working in agile environments using SCRUM and/or Kanban methodologies
- Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating and contributing ideas.
