Job Description
Lead Quality Assurance Engineer on Frontends Development team at Hudl. Driving quality assurance and automation while coaching product squads.
Responsibilities:
- You will be a key leader in our mission to empower product squads to design and build modern, scalable, and accessible front-end apps.
- You'll be given general problems and be left to your own devices to define and implement solutions.
- You will have an in-depth understanding of the current state of automation, using data to measurably improve reliability and coverage.
- You will coach and guide product squads to find defects earlier, all while evangelizing your favored solutions and defending your approach to other leaders.
- You'll lead the charge in shifting testing left, using data to identify and solve defect trends in our front-end systems.
- You will have full ownership over squad quality, using data to solve problems and reduce defect leakage into production.
- You will have full ownership over the technical excellence and strategy of our automation, ensuring it keeps up with development speed.
Requirements:
- Coach: You know how to influence and coach teams even though they don't report to you.
- Leader: You have experience leading complex, full-stack, and multi-platform quality initiatives.
- Technical: You have a deep understanding of your domain and you're able to understand and navigate complex systems.
- Skilled Investigator: You excel at understanding the root cause of problems, particularly those related to flaky tests and inconsistent user interfaces.
- Problem Solver: You are detail-driven and can identify, analyze, and solve challenging problems.
- Quality Focused: You have a clear understanding of what quality success looks like, not just at a project level, but at a platform level.
- Risk-Averse: You can evaluate and design a testing approach to mitigate risk.
