Job Description
Video Editor Lead producing short-form social ads for Mindful Souls’ wellness products. Managing editors, creative workflows, and performance-driven video optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Create eye-catching 15–60 second videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest, optimized for each format
- Edit raw footage, including UGC, with transitions, graphics, and audio to produce engaging promotional content
- Lead and execute high-priority edits, set the quality bar, and own final review and sign-off on outgoing videos
- Manage, mentor, and develop the video editing team through onboarding, training, feedback, 1:1s, and performance reviews
- Allocate work across the team based on capacity, strengths, and priority
- Plan and manage the editing pipeline, deadlines, progress tracking, and blockers
- Establish and document editing processes, asset organization, naming conventions, and version control
- Coordinate between editors and creative strategists, marketers, and designers
- Translate briefs and creative direction into actionable tasks
- Brainstorm and pitch creative ideas and angles to the Ads Department
- Maintain consistency in style, branding, and technical quality
- Analyze hook rate, retention, CTR, and ROAS to guide editing decisions and iterations
- Build and maintain templates, presets, and reusable assets
- Own and optimize the team's editing technology stack and manage media assets, archives, and backups
- Track social media trends, editing techniques, AI shortcuts, and new production approaches
Requirements:
- 5–6 years of hands-on video editing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or DaVinci Resolve)
- Proven track record creating short-form content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest
- Strong understanding of performance metrics — hook rate, retention, CTR, ROAS — and how editing influences them
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a creative team in a remote environment
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder skills
- Experience with project management tools (Notion, Asana, ClickUp, or similar)
- Background in wellness, mindfulness, or conscious lifestyle content
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools and production shortcuts
- Experience hiring or evaluating video editors
