Job Description
Legal technology consulting director delivering eDiscovery assessments, implementations, and operating models for corporate legal departments. Leading client engagements, project delivery, team development, and business development at Harbor, a legal services provider.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple client engagements and relationships
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery and administration
- Mentor and guide team members to ensure timely, high-quality client deliverables
- Cultivate strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service
- Conduct eDiscovery process, structure, technology, and spend assessments
- Select, implement, and migrate legal hold, data preservation, collection, processing, ECA, and document review systems
- Drive eDiscovery process and program improvement initiatives, including operating models, workflows, playbooks, dashboards, and preferred provider programs
- Profile systems, create data inventories, map data flows, advise on data hygiene, and support defensible disposition initiatives
- Provide augmented eDiscovery case management, system administration, and legal hold managed services
- Facilitate workshops with senior legal and IT stakeholders
- Benchmark eDiscovery processes, technologies, reporting, metrics, costs, spend, and team structures
- Develop recommendations and implementation roadmaps for client leadership
- Map current workflows to technology-enabled processes and integrations
- Create process documentation, workflow diagrams, playbooks, SOPs, matrices, checklists, trackers, and other deliverables
- Define test scenarios for processes, technologies, integrations, data handoffs, and hosting models
- Define change management strategies and support user adoption
- Develop training materials and lead end-user training with technology providers
- Manage implementation project schedules, budgets, scope, status reporting, issues, and third-party vendor coordination
- Serve as primary client contact and escalation path
- Support quarterly business reviews and enhance project delivery methodologies
- Participate in strategic initiatives and community enrichment programs
- Support business development, proposals, pitches, statements of work, vendor relationships, conferences, and thought leadership
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in legal consulting or technology implementation in a customer-facing client advisory role
- Significant experience with eDiscovery process and technology assessments, platform selection and implementation, team structures, operating models, documentation, or best practices
- Hands-on experience implementing Exterro, RelativityOne, Reveal, DISCO, Everlaw, Nuix, OpenText, or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of M365 Purview, Google Vault, Slack, and data preservation features
- Four-year degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Data & Analytics, or similar, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Knowledge of EDRM and FRCP
- Knowledge of leading eDiscovery technologies and service providers
- Knowledge of eDiscovery stakeholder roles and responsibilities
- Knowledge of legal operations and eDiscovery platform integrations
- Knowledge of information governance and data hygiene practices
- Knowledge of IT implementation methodologies and controls
- Experience managing project budgets, resources, and timelines
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements and clients independently
- Excellent written, data-driven, and verbal communication and storytelling skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to prepare polished client deliverables
- Willingness to self-study and learn new concepts and technologies
- Aptitude and desire to develop generative or other AI-enabled solutions
- Permanent US work authorization required
