Job Description
Japan-qualified litigation lawyer evaluating two AI platforms' answers on Japanese law. Scoring responses and providing rubric-based feedback for Mercor's legal AI benchmarking projects.
Responsibilities:
- Run the same set of prompts across two AI/LLM platforms
- Compare both platforms' outputs side by side
- Score each response against a standardized rubric
- Submit concise written feedback for every evaluation
- Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of primarily law-firm experience in litigation, disputes, or contentious practice; 3+ years preferred
- If currently in-house, must have moved in-house within the last 2 years and have prior law-firm experience
- Qualified to practise in Japan as a bengoshi or registered foreign lawyer / gaikokuho jimu bengoshi
- Strong command of Japanese litigation and procedural law
- Native or fluent Japanese
- Precise written communication
- Ability to work independently according to a rubric and deadlines
- Initial availability of approximately 10 hours
- Must work as an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
