Job Description
Managing Director leading Teach For America's corporate account management portfolio. Retaining, expanding, and growing six- and seven-figure partnerships through strategic stewardship.
Responsibilities:
- Set the annual and multi-year strategy for the national corporate account management portfolio
- Develop priorities and tactics to retain, deepen, and grow current corporate partners
- Build and maintain account management infrastructure, KPIs, and workflow processes
- Lead a portfolio of six- and seven-figure corporate partners at national and regional levels
- Serve as primary strategist and relationship manager for current corporate partners
- Represent TFA externally with corporate donors, C-suite leaders, foundation executives, and CSR/ESG heads
- Oversee and execute fundraising operations and stewardship, including renewals, impact reporting, and recognition
- Transition newly closed partners from the Business Development sub-team
- Collaborate with regional fundraising teams, national colleagues, board members, senior leaders, and program teams
- Lead complex cross-functional project management and deliver partnership commitments
- Explore and responsibly apply AI tools to partner stewardship, portfolio management, and internal workflows
- Manage, coach, onboard, and develop a direct report toward retention and growth goals
- Build an equitable and inclusive Account Management sub-team culture
- Contribute to development, organizational culture, DEI, special projects, and team-wide initiatives
- Prepare and lead stewardship, renewal, and growth conversations
- Build impact reports, renewal proposals, and partner-facing materials
- Track portfolio activity, retention rates, and revenue projections in Salesforce and other reporting tools
- Represent TFA at partner-facing events, executive briefings, and stewardship convenings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Ability to build and manage a high-performing corporate account management function
- Expertise in corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and/or corporate partnerships
- Senior-level relationship management experience, including engagement with C-suite executives and corporate foundation leaders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, executive briefings, and impact reporting
- Project and portfolio management skills
- Strong people management skills and ability to develop direct reports
- Deep commitment to TFA's mission, values, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Salesforce required
- Curiosity, fluency, critical thinking, and ethical grounding regarding emerging technologies, including AI tools
- At least 7 years of fundraising, partnership management, or account management experience with a strong track record of retaining and growing six- and seven-figure relationships (preferred)
- Prior management experience (preferred)
- Experience in education-sector or mission-driven nonprofit fundraising (preferred)
- Experience navigating complex, national organizations with matrixed local and central teams (preferred)
- CFRE certification, MBA, or other advanced degree (preferred)
- Occasional evening and weekend work required
- Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
- Prior experience integrating AI tools into fundraising, sales, communications, research, or knowledge-management workflows (preferred)
