Job Description
Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration responsible for managing industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise. Designing, analyzing, and optimizing refrigeration systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- responsible for the design, analysis, optimization, and technical support of industrial refrigeration systems
- provide subject-matter expertise for ammonia, Co2 and Freon-based systems
- develop and maintain engineering standards and specifications
- evaluate system performance and recommend improvements
- provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- partner with Facilities and Maintenance teams to develop maintenance strategies
- analyze system performance data to identify reliability risks and energy optimization opportunities
- maintain accurate P&IDs and technical documentation
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration
- hands-on experience with ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems
- working knowledge of Freon-based systems
- strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)
- demonstrated experience in system troubleshooting
- experience supporting capital projects
- proficient in interpreting and developing P&IDs
- strong understanding of asset reliability and energy optimization practices
- familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements
- ability to travel to operating sites as needed
