Job Description
Mechanical Engineer verifying manufacturing documentation, drawings, BOMs, and component compliance. Compiling FAI reports and resolving technical discrepancies for a manufacturing production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Compile First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, including the definition and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Analyse and understand Bills of Materials (BOM) listing parts used in assembly
- Cross-reference and match BOM parts with delivery notes and supplier Certificates of Conformity (COC)
- Review and match measurement reports provided by internal measurement departments
- Apply systems thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve technical documentation discrepancies
- Verify that manufactured components and supplier deliverables align with engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and compliance standards
- Support component approval and verify assembly integrity
Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering background or qualification (engineering students are eligible)
- Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to understand and interpret Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Demonstrated eye for detail, systems-thinking approach, and problem-solving capabilities
- Prior experience compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) reports (desirable)
- Experience matching delivery notes and Certificates of Conformity (COC) against BOMs (desirable)
