Job Description

Mechanical Engineering Lead recognized as expert in design for nuclear facilities. Working remotely, supporting projects with significant impact at AtkinsRéalis.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the recognized expert on mechanical engineering design for nuclear facilities
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues
  • Recommends engineering process and service improvements
  • Identifies innovative solutions to solve unique and complex problems
  • Works independently with guidance in the most challenging situations
  • Leads functional teams for projects, and may lead project teams
  • Provides oversight and supervision of the technical work of senior professionals
  • Communicates complex ideas and persuades others to adopt a different point of view
  • Participates in technical and professional organizations at a prominent leadership level
  • Assists management in conducting project review audits

Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 15 years of experience preferred; typical incumbent has 20-25 years of experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License required, with ability to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests
  • Expert knowledge of key design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities required
  • Participation in appropriate national consensus standard/code committees preferred
  • Expert knowledge in the use of mechanical design software codes, such as ANSYS, Fluent, and AutoPipe
  • Senior design professional on Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered
