Job Description

Per diem Occupational Therapist providing in-home therapy services for Miami clients. Evaluating function, delivering treatment, coordinating care, and documenting clinical progress and discharge.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, supervise, evaluate, and provide Occupational Therapy Services to clients in their homes as prescribed by the Attending Provider
  • Evaluate clients, establish goals, perform re-evaluations, and document findings
  • Guide clients in therapeutic, self-care, and creative activities to improve independence and functioning
  • Establish household management routines
  • Record and report client reactions and condition changes to the provider
  • Instruct clients and families on prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices
  • Instruct families and health team personnel in the Occupational Therapy program and client care
  • Attend paramedical meetings, case conferences, staff development, and in-service education
  • Prepare and submit clinical/progress notes according to Agency policies
  • Supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant when indicated
  • Coordinate weekly visit scheduling with the DON or designee
  • Participate in discharge activities and complete the Occupational Therapy Discharge Summary
  • Notify the Agency of absences affecting agreed services

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association, or equivalent
  • Registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • At least one year of institutional experience
  • Licensed and/or registered by the applicable state, if required
  • Must have a car with required insurance coverage and a state driver's license or reliable transportation
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing to the extent required by the position
  • Able to physically perform the required duties
  • Able to travel to prospective clients' residences
