Job Description

Youth Gaming Therapy Facilitator at Mud Club Inc. facilitating therapeutic gaming experiences for children and teens to build social skills. Collaborating with therapists to support developmental goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate online therapeutic gaming groups for children and teens.
  • Create safe, inclusive, and encouraging environments where participants feel supported and valued.
  • Help youth develop social communication, teamwork, problem-solving, emotional regulation, confidence, and peer relationship skills through structured gameplay.
  • Support group engagement and participation while adapting activities to individual needs.
  • Observe and document group dynamics, progress, and areas where participants may benefit from additional support.
  • Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists to support therapeutic goals, monitor progress, and help youth practice skills in meaningful and engaging ways.
  • Build positive relationships with participants and families through professional and compassionate communication.
  • Contribute ideas that help improve and expand our gaming therapy programs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or youth in therapeutic, educational, recreational, behavioural, community, or healthcare settings.
  • Experience facilitating groups, activities, camps, programs, social skills groups, or therapeutic sessions for children or youth.
  • Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and group dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with youth and create psychologically safe environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in group settings.
  • Comfortable using technology and facilitating sessions remotely.
  • Familiarity with Minecraft or a willingness to learn how gaming can be used as a therapeutic tool.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) diploma or experience working alongside Occupational Therapists (preferred).
  • Experience supporting neurodivergent youth, including children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, or social communication challenges (preferred).
