Job Description

Payroll and benefits specialist managing US, Canadian, UK, and French operations for a global technology and cybersecurity provider. Handling payroll, leave administration, benefits support, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Own full-cycle US and Canada payroll processing, ensuring each pay period is accurate and timely
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for UK and France payroll while working with third-party payroll providers
  • Maintain payroll data in Rippling, including employee changes, pay adjustments, and terminations
  • Research and help resolve payroll tax notices involving unemployment insurance and withholding
  • Reconcile payroll and benefits, including payroll deductions, benefits invoices, and general ledger entries
  • Support compliance-related audits by preparing payroll and benefits documentation for Finance and People Operations
  • Handle leave request intake and check initial eligibility against policy
  • Coordinate the pay impact of leave with payroll processing
  • Track leave case status and manage return-to-work logistics
  • Partner with People Operations on compliance review for complex or unclear leave cases
  • Answer employee questions about benefits enrollment, coverage, and plan details
  • Process benefits changes tied to qualifying life events
  • Support open enrollment logistics as needed

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state US payroll
  • Experience with Canadian payroll preferred; willingness to build this expertise required
  • Experience with Rippling or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with US leave laws (FMLA, state paid leave/PFML) preferred
  • Experience researching and resolving payroll tax notices (SUI, withholding) directly with tax agencies or through a payroll provider
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive, confidential data
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance and third-party vendors
  • Experience coordinating with international payroll vendors a plus (UK/France)
