Job Description

Power Systems Engineer deploying and supporting ADMS control software for electric utilities. Configuring grid applications, testing customer systems, and troubleshooting live deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement control systems at electric utilities to improve modern-grid operating efficiency while meeting contract requirements and specifications
  • Participate in the design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects
  • Support customer testing events
  • Install and configure advanced distribution management applications, including DPF, FLISR, and VVC/VVO
  • Work closely with OSI development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes
  • Interface with utility GIS teams to extract, translate, and load electrical network models into the Distribution Management System
  • Configure and integrate software components to meet contract requirements and test with customers
  • Train customers to operate delivered systems
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues on live systems
  • Work across functional teams and engage with customers throughout ADMS deployments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electrical-computer science engineering, or computer science
  • Willingness to travel (25% average)
  • Understanding of electric distribution power systems and modeling preferred, including Load Flow Studies, Coordination Studies, and Arc Flash Studies
  • Operations or engineering experience at an electric utility preferred
  • Programming and scripting experience preferred (C/Python)
  • Experience triaging complex systems and software applications
  • Experience supporting internal and customer-led testing events
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work within tight timelines
  • Database and data structure knowledge and experience preferred (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
  • Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering or equivalent is a plus
