Job Description
Power Systems Engineer deploying and supporting ADMS control software for electric utilities. Configuring grid applications, testing customer systems, and troubleshooting live deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Implement control systems at electric utilities to improve modern-grid operating efficiency while meeting contract requirements and specifications
- Participate in the design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects
- Support customer testing events
- Install and configure advanced distribution management applications, including DPF, FLISR, and VVC/VVO
- Work closely with OSI development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes
- Interface with utility GIS teams to extract, translate, and load electrical network models into the Distribution Management System
- Configure and integrate software components to meet contract requirements and test with customers
- Train customers to operate delivered systems
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues on live systems
- Work across functional teams and engage with customers throughout ADMS deployments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, electrical-computer science engineering, or computer science
- Willingness to travel (25% average)
- Understanding of electric distribution power systems and modeling preferred, including Load Flow Studies, Coordination Studies, and Arc Flash Studies
- Operations or engineering experience at an electric utility preferred
- Programming and scripting experience preferred (C/Python)
- Experience triaging complex systems and software applications
- Experience supporting internal and customer-led testing events
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize work within tight timelines
- Database and data structure knowledge and experience preferred (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
- Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering or equivalent is a plus
