Job Description
Principal architecting enterprise data governance platforms for Alignment Health, a healthcare company serving seniors and chronically ill patients. Leading metadata, MDM, data quality, and lineage capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Define the technology architecture for enterprise data governance capabilities, including metadata management, MDM, data quality, and lineage
- Align platform strategy with enterprise data architecture principles and cloud ecosystem standards
- Lead implementation of governance platforms, including configuration, integration, testing, and go-live activities
- Ensure production-grade performance, availability, and data integrity across governance use cases
- Embed governance controls into data pipelines and processing workflows
- Design and implement automated workflows for data quality rules, metadata harvesting, lineage capture, and MDM matching
- Enable visibility into data flows, system dependencies, and transformation logic for impact analysis, audit readiness, and root-cause investigation
- Establish technical standards for governance platform configuration, integration, and operation
- Produce platform architecture documentation for technical teams and governance stakeholders
- Collaborate with data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams
- Translate governance business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with organizational standards and security controls
- Lead through technical expertise, architectural ownership, and cross-functional engineering collaboration as an individual contributor
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data governance platform implementation
- Demonstrated experience implementing and operating enterprise-scale data governance or data management platforms
- Experience integrating governance tooling into cloud-based data platforms and pipelines
- Experience implementing MDM, data catalog, or data quality platforms in a regulated healthcare environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA technical safeguard requirements as they apply to data platform architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business, Health Informatics, or a related field
- Hands-on platform experience with at least one enterprise data catalog, one MDM platform, and one data quality/observability tool
- HIPAA technical compliance knowledge as it applies to data platform architecture
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview or Alation
- Deep implementation experience with Reltio, Informatica MDM, or Profisee
- Proficiency with Acceldata or Informatica Data Quality
- Solid grounding in ETL/ELT pipelines, API integration, and cloud-native data platforms such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks
- Experience architecting governance solutions within enterprise cloud ecosystems
- Working knowledge of cloud security controls, access management, and data classification
- Proficiency in SQL
- Ability to produce clear platform architecture documents and translate technical design decisions for non-technical governance stakeholders
- Ability to perform the stated essential physical functions, with reasonable accommodations where applicable
