Job Description

Procurement Manager sourcing materials and services for MasTec's electric transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects. Managing suppliers, purchase orders, inventories, costs, and procurement personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, organize, and oversee activities involved in identifying, evaluating, analyzing, and acquiring company materials and services
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to prepare and initiate invitations to bid, negotiate, award purchase orders, close purchase orders, and manage supplier performance for major projects and contracts
  • Review planned Bills of Materials and ensure purchase orders are created before commitment and approval
  • Transmit approved purchase orders and supporting documents to suppliers; track acknowledgements and confirm lead times, delivery dates, and costs
  • Review, update, and maintain open purchase orders until closed
  • Report supplier non-conformances and prepare return documentation, following up until resolved
  • Consolidate, reduce, and rationalize the local supplier base to achieve assigned cost improvement targets
  • Serve as the single point of contact for supplier questions and lead supplier meetings to resolve or mitigate critical issues
  • Prepare reporting and KPI measurements, including savings reports
  • Develop and maintain the Supplier Relationship Management program
  • Work closely with Sourcing Leads, Material Coordinators, and Project Managers
  • Develop and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies at company sites
  • Maintain required quantities of supplies, services, and materials to optimize production
  • Assess efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials
  • Negotiate prices and delivery terms for materials, services, and supplies
  • Advise the project cost development team on availability and costs of supplies, services, and materials
  • Coordinate engineering or construction changes to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
  • Monitor supplier performance against quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers
  • Hire and train departmental personnel
  • Oversee the department's daily workflow and schedules
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Handle employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience as a procurement manager, or similar relevant position required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and internal customers
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of company processes and logistics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
