Job Description
Product Engineer designing and developing filtration products for automotive industry. Supporting product strategies, testing, and production while coordinating with customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automotive, heavy duty/commercial vehicle and industrial filtration products, including liquid and air filter products
- Utilize Product Data Management system for change approval, document revision, and document release
- Coordinate development activities such as designing, testing, and production trials
- Support internal objectives and initiatives of the Company business plan for new product, cost reduction, and manufacturing efforts
- Assist with development of filtration product strategies
- Represent Company to original equipment and aftermarket customers
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in education and experience.
- Three to five years experience in design/development environment with project management responsibilities (preferred but not required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work priorities and planning and task delegation
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project)
- Strong internal/external customer service skills. Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people
- Ability to motivate teams to produce products proficiently and timely
- Ability to create change through new technologies and gain advantages
- Strong bias for action and excellent problem solving skills
- Use logic and appropriate methods to solve problems with effective solutions
- Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment
- Knowledge of injection molding and die casting.
- Working knowledge of TS16949 and APQP processes
- Working knowledge of: Material Science; Fluid Mechanics; Design FMEA’s; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing; PPAP’s; Advanced Quality Planning; Design of Experiments, Mistake Proofing, Problem Solving, Bench Marking, Design for Assembly; Manufacturing; Finite Element Analysis; Statistical Analysis
- Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle engineering
- Experience in design of fuel and oil filtration systems (coolers, heaters, priming systems, housings)
- Experience in high volume product manufacturing
- Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required.
