Job Description

Project Manager delivering VA DEAN transformation projects for Aptive, a federal-agency consulting partner. Managing schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-organizational execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager for one or more projects within the DEAN program
  • Provide day-to-day management of assigned project activities
  • Ensure deliverables are completed on scope, on schedule, and within budget
  • Plan, initiate, manage, execute, and close out assigned projects supporting VHA's integrated health care system
  • Apply structured project management methodologies aligned with PMI standards and federal contracting requirements
  • Provide project-level status updates to the Task Order Project Lead / Program Manager
  • Escalate risks and issues and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, risk and issue logs, action item trackers, and status reports
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, VA program offices, and partner contractors
  • Align efforts, resolve dependencies, and drive execution of assigned workstreams within the DEAN transformation initiative
  • Monitor project performance metrics
  • Participate in lessons-learned reviews
  • Support continuous improvement of project execution processes in alignment with VHA operational standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience successfully managing a large-scale program encompassing multiple projects, with comparable lifecycle budget and complexity
  • At least 4 years supporting a large corporation, government agency, or health care organization
  • BA/BS Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related discipline
  • Experience planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out programs or projects in support of an agency's mission
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance (Tier 2 / MBI)
  • Compliance with VA information security, privacy, system access, VA PIV credentialing, and onboarding requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Subject to federal contractor employment eligibility verification (E-Verify)
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable quality-equivalent certification required at time of hire
  • Familiarity with standard operations of VHA preferred
  • Ability to engage effectively with organizational leadership preferred
  • Knowledge of the DEAN mission and function preferred
