Job Description

Sartorius R&D account manager engaging Japanese biopharma labs, validating process technologies, and developing strategic opportunities. Supporting pilot and clinical trials before commercial handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Build sustained relationships with scientific and managerial stakeholders at Strategic Account R&D sites
  • Increase access, trust, and early visibility into molecule programs, discovery, and R&D process decisions
  • Track molecule pipeline status, site footprint, and upcoming decision points from discovery through R&D
  • Identify and prioritize early-stage technology seeding opportunities
  • Translate R&D process needs into concrete use cases and align Business Unit technical experts for validation support
  • Drive technology validation through process and product trials, defined process steps, scale-up/scale-down, and manufacturing-sensitive validation
  • Document trial outcomes and readiness signals to support progression toward pilot, clinical, or manufacturing adoption
  • Support Phase I–III pilot and clinical process/product trials in collaboration with Product Development, Tech Transfer, and CMOs
  • Monitor new process landscapes, transfers, and modalities within accounts and flag footprint changes, risks, and implications
  • Execute structured handovers of validated programs to commercial teams, including stakeholder maps, process context, validation evidence, and next actions

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or comparable field
  • 3+ years in customer-facing roles in biopharma environments, such as process development support, technical sales, applications, or scientific support
  • Strong exposure to R&D contexts
  • Ability to operate credibly in highly scientific environments and translate early R&D needs into structured validation and adoption paths
  • Ability to influence diverse, senior decision makers and partner with Technical Sales to shape complex customer solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management across customer R&D networks and internal matrix teams
  • High proficiency in CRM (SFDC)
  • Disciplined documentation for structured handover, including pipeline tracking, customer processes, validation evidence, and decision points
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness to travel more than 50%
