Job Description

Relationship Manager managing environmental waste equipment-finance relationships for M&T Bank. Originating financing opportunities, assessing customers, and supporting credit and sales growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing MTEFC business relationships in the Environmental Waste space with senior management
  • Communicate with customers to satisfy financing needs
  • Solicit existing customers to originate new financing opportunities, including bid letters and publicly funded project awards
  • Expand business relationships and deliver sufficient margins through superior service and industry and equipment knowledge
  • Assess customer experience, financial condition, and collateral to provide appropriate financing solutions
  • Provide industry and customer intelligence from surety, suppliers, and vendors to senior management
  • Assist senior management with regular sales training through meetings, conference calls, tradeshows, and one-on-one calls
  • Collaborate with management and support teams to drive success and efficiency using public data sources
  • Represent the organization in the marketplace and contribute to new business opportunities
  • Escalate risk-related issues and maintain M&T internal control standards
  • Implement internal and external audit points and applicable regulatory issues
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience
  • Prior credit underwriting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls
  • Ability to identify risk-related issues requiring escalation
  • Ability to maintain internal control standards and implement audit points and regulatory issues
