Job Description
Relationship Manager building Talcott’s U.S. retail annuity distribution. Developing advisor relationships, driving sales, and delivering product training with 70% domestic travel.
Responsibilities:
- Build Talcott’s retail distribution infrastructure
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies for building client relationships, generating new business, and driving revenue growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand how product refinements and service improvements impact company strategy and operational demands
- Work closely with the Head of Retail Distribution to develop business plans that maximize sales and meet growth objectives
- Engage IMO marketers, independent agents, and independent financial advisors to promote Talcott annuity sales
- Spend 70% of time meeting face to face with IMO principals, marketers, and agents, and 30% in the home office making outbound calls
- Build and maintain marketer and producer relationships and communicate market, industry, and product updates
- Identify and develop new advisors while strengthening existing advisor relationships
- Drive sales through outbound calling, webinars, field activity, and in-person meetings
- Execute frequent touchpoints with assigned agents and marketers
- Create, execute, and follow up on email campaigns
- Schedule, coordinate, and run national conference calls, webinars, GoToMeetings, and campaigns
- Conduct product and sales training through individual and group sessions, seminars, workshops, and conferences
- Plan and deploy resources into the assigned territory through marketing and sales initiatives
- Own budget and expense account
- Use CRM daily to record contacts, notes, activities, and follow-up
- Maintain a high level of professional conduct
- Apply in-depth knowledge of fixed and fixed indexed annuities and their role in clients’ overall financial plans
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry sales experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- ‘Digital’ and ‘Virtual’ skillset with ability to have input into future systems
- Annuity sales industry experience strongly preferred
- IMO channel experience strongly preferred
- State insurance license strongly preferred
- Ability to navigate computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with annuity illustration software preferred
- Must be an initiative-taker and able to work independently
- Proven sales acumen and strong presentation skills
- Ability to cultivate and retain productive relationships
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet specific sales and marketing objectives
